On behalf of the Friends of the Lyndon Johnson National Historical Park Board of Trustees, welcome!

Whether you are an artist, a supporter of the Friends, an art collector, or simply looking for a unique Hill Country experience, the Cabinet Oak Project and Celebration is not to be missed.

A blending of history and art, the Cabinet Oak Project provides selected artists from Texas and around the country a rare opportunity to create one-of-a-kind works of art from an unusual medium—material from one of the most historic trees in Texas: the LBJ Ranch’s Cabinet Oak.

This convergence of history, art and place will culminate in a celebratory auction event in spring 2023 to benefit critical preservation and educational needs of the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, one of the true gems of the Texas Hill Country.

President Johnson said, “Pursuit of artistic achievement, and making the fruits of that achievement available to all its people, is among the hallmarks of a Great Society.” A half-century later, the Friends continue to pursue these inspiring goals.

We hope you will join us!
